Geneva, circa 1840. Very fine 18K gold and enamel magnifying glass.
C. Three-body, the handle with translucent imperial blue enamel with a latticework pattern, each segment centered by a gold paillon leaf, the center with elaborate geometrical and floral paillon decoration over translucent imperial blue enamel on an engine-turned background, opaque white enamel frame decorated with gold paillons, the top matching the handle, a pivoted and spring-loaded magnifying glass concealed in the center released by a small pushpiece at the top of the handle, small finial at the end of the handle.Punched with later French gold marks.Dim. Length 98 mm.
