Adam and Eve. Johanes Van Ceulen Le Jeune, Hagae, circa 1710. Fine silver pair-cased repoussé watch.
C. Outer: Two-body, the back repoussé with a scene depicting Eve handing the apple of the knowledge to Adam while the serpent gives her another one, bezel with scrolling. Inner: Two-body, "bassine" with deep back, polished, winding aperture in the back with a shutter. D. Silver, champlevé Roman numerals, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic markers on polished cartouches, the center repoussé with British coat of arms. Gilt hands. M. 42 mm., hinged, frosted gilt full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, steel balance with flat balance spring, single-footed cock pierced and engraved with symmetrical foliage, streamers at the neck.Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 61 mm.
