Neuchâtel, Swiss, No. 8591, circa 1820. Fine and rare 18K two-tone gold and double-face watch with date, days of the week and painted on enamel dial.

C. Two-body, "Louis XVI", polished, bezels decorated with applied green gold twisted rope wire. D. Front: enamel, two putti on each side against a pink background, below a regulator scale surmounted by painted rose garlands, above eccentric radial Roman chapter, outer minute dot divisions with five-minute Arabic markers surmounted by a painted red ribbon. Brass oval-opening Breguet hands. Back: white enamel with outer red days-of-the-week track and inner Arabic 31-day date track. Gold "serpentine and heart" hands. M. 34 mm., hinged, frosted gilt full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, single-footed cock.Signed on dial and movement, case punched with a chevron, the Neuchâtel area gold guarantee mark.Diam. 53 mm.
