Souvenir D'Amitié. Geneva, circa 1820. Very fine 18K gold and enamel split pearl-set notebook with paillon decoration.

C. Shaped like a book, both panels hinged at the edges, three loops at the free edge for the pen, the front with fine enamel medallion depicting a father and son, paillon frame, translucent imperial blue enamel background, white enamel ribbons with words "SOUVENIR D'AMITIE", surmounted by a paillon-set sunburst pattern, white enamel border, the reverse en suite with a scene of a young man and a lady, spine with en suite enamel with gold paillon rosettes and split pearl-set ribs. Gilt silver pen decorated with floral engravings. Inside original cloth-covered notebook, compartment for notes or visiting cards and a mirror.Dim. 78 x 51 x 9 mm.
