The Nymphs. Geo(rg) Chr(istoph) Lucenberger, (Augsburg), circa 1650. Fine gilt bronze hour striking pre-balance spring, single-hand square horizontal table clock.
C. Panels chased and engraved with nymphs, molded base and top, bun feet, base with aperture for bell. D. Silver, champlevé radial Roman numerals, inner quarters, innermost 24-hour scale (13-24), setting pin-hole between 3 and 4 o'clock. Single "fleur-de-lis" hand. M. Square, 70 x 70 mm, gilt brass, square pillars, fusee and chain for the going train, verge escapement, circular steel foliot, hog-bristle regulator, irregular gilt cock pierced and engraved with dolphins and unusual foot, fixed barrel for striking, count wheel set on the back plate.Signed on the back plate.Dim. 88 x 88 mm.
