Quare, London, circa 1690. Fine and rare silver single-hand "oignon" watch with alarm.
C. Double-body, "bassine", polished, the band pierced and engraved with foliage and grotesques, without outer case. D. Silver champlevé with radial Roman numerals and inner silver alarm-setting disc with fleur-de-lis steel hour pointer. Blued steel hand for setting the alarm. M. 56 mm, hinged gilt brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring,gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with foliage. Alarm train with fixed barrel engraved with foliage, striking on a bell.Signed on the back plate.Diam. 54 mm.
