Notes

Fromanteel & Clarke. They were excellent watchmakers of the 18th century who specialized in long case clocks, lantern clocks and bracket clocks, as well as watches. It is generally considered that it was one of the Fromanteels who brought the long case clock to England. Watches and clocks by Fromanteel & Clarke can be found in the City of London Museum, the London Science Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh.
