Boubon, Palais Royal, Paris, No. 123, circa 1815. Fine and rare 18K gold dead center seconds quarter-repeating watch with date and ruby du- plex escapement.
C. Four-body, "Empire", polished with reeded band, gilt hinged cuvette. D. Gold, small Roman chapter set at the lower part with outer minute divisions, subsidiary date dial at the top, outermost dead-seconds track, engine-turned center with motto "NOCTE AC DIE". Blued steel Breguet and "spade" hands. M. 53 mm, frosted gilt full plate, fusee and chain, Harrison's maintaining power, double-wheel ruby duplex escapement with steel escape wheels, large three-arm gold balance wheel with ruby locking and impulse pallets, blued steel flat balance spring with compensation curb, escapement jeweled in rubies, repeating on square gongs by depressing the pendant.Signed on the cuvette.Diam. 60 mm.
