Bovet, Fleurier, No. 698, made for the Chinese market circa 1845. Fine 18K gold and painted on enamel, split pearl-set center seconds watch with special steel caliber.
C. Four-body, "Empire", spring-loaded back cover finely painted on enamel with courting doves among flowers on green background, split-pearl bezels, champlevé enamel band, pendant and bow decorated with foliate pattern, pendant and bow set with graduated split-pearls. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute/seconds divisions. Blued steel "spoon" hands. M. 47.4 mm (21'''), steel "Chinese" caliber with standing barrel, steel train, ruby duplex escapement with unusual bimetallic three-arm balance with three wedged weights secured from the top with blued steel plates, entire escapement and train to the third wheel jeweled.Signed on the dial and movement, numbered on the case.Diam. 57 mm.
