Unsigned, France, circa 1870. Fine and decorative eight day going hour and half hour-striking clock fitted in a painting.
C. Gilt wood framed, oil on canvas, depicting a Swiss Alpine village with mountains in the background, a church with the clock in its tower and a river with boats in the foreground. D. White with radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel hands. M. Brass, square with going barrels for both the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, pendulum with spring suspension. Striking on a gong with count wheel on the pillar plate.Dim. 99 x 83 cm, including the frame.
