Raingo Frères, Paris, musical movement by A. Reuge & Cie, circa 1880, retailed by I. Tritschler & Co. Very fine and rare eight day going hour and half hour striking musical clock painting with two tunes, with echo activated at 12 o'clock, music playing every hour or on demand.

Gilt wood framed oil on canvas, featuring a landscape, a building with a clock tower in the foreground and a boat on a river, base with a lever for tune switching, and another for activating music at will. D. Painted white with Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel hands. M. Circular, brass with going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, pin-wheel escapement with pins on the same side of the escape wheel, pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on a gong with count wheel on the back plate. Additional brass movement for the carillon with echo playing at 6 and 12 o'clock, striking first on one gong and last part on two gongs with its own two hammers, fly regulator, released by main movement striking train at 12 o'clock. Musical movement of 2 tunes with 13 cm. brass pinned cylinder with 70 tuned vibrating blades in 14 sections of 5 blades each.Signed on the movement, musical box signed by the maker's trademark "RA & C", case with Tritschler label.Dim. Frame 92 x 80 cm..
