Notes

Caliber 48, was designed by Lange for the Wehrmacht, tohave a daily variation rate of less than 1 second. Its winding indicator was invented by Otto Lange and patented in Germany on Sept. 6, 1940, patent No. 732162. The demandfor these watches was such that the Lange factory had toemploy outside watchmakers to finish them. Most caliber 48 watches have lateral banking utilizing lateral extension of the pallet fork. This watch has banking in the straight line of the escape wheel and the balance.
