D. Quare, London, No. 272, probably German, circa 1690.Fine and rare, silver double pair cased single-hand "oignon" watch with alarm.
C. outer: double-body, polished, inner: double-body, "bassine", polished, the band pierced and engraved with foliage and grotesques,without outer case. D. silver champlevé with radial Roman numerals and inner silver alarm-setting disc with fleur-de-lis steel hourpointer. Blued steel hand for setting the alarm. M. 41 mm. ø, hinged, gilt brass full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusée and chain, vergeescapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass cock pierced and engraved with foliage. Alarm train with fixedbarrel engraved with foliage, striking on a bell.Back plate of the movement signed.Diam. 60 mm.
