Baltazar, France, circa 1690.Very fine and rare, astronomical, silver “oignon” watch, single hand, with days of the week, corresponding planets, date,months with corresponding number of days, zodiac signs, division of day in four parts, phases and age of the moon.
C. two-body, “oignon” type, shutter for a winding aperture on the back, square hinged. D. small excentric chapter ring, silver chapterring in the the lower part, silver date disc at 2 o' clock, month aperture at 4 o' clock with zodiac signs, day divisions aperture at 8 o' clock,moon phases aperture at 10 o' clock with a silver disc for the age of the moon, at 12 o' clock aperture for days of the week with correspondingplanets. M. 42,5 mm. Ø, hinged, gilt brass full plate, egyptian pillars, fusée and chain, verge escapement, three-arm steelbalance, flat balance spring, single footed symmetrically pierced and engraved cock with streamers, Tompion type regulator.Movement signed.Diam. 56 mm.
