The Madonna and Child Turet (Thuret) à Paris, circa 1700. Very fine and very rare gilt brass, single-hand oignon watch, wound through the center, with Geneva school painted on enamel cock.
C. Three-body, oignon with consular design, back and bezel engraved with inhabited foliage, fixed cuvette with glazed aperture for viewing enameled cock.D. White enamel cartouches in relief with bold radial Roman numerals, inner quarter-hour divisions, center chased with exotic birds and foliage. Blued steel hand.M. 46 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full plate with Egyptian pillars, fusee and chain with nicely engraved guard plate, verge escapement with steel balance and short balance spring, double-footed cock with finely painted on enamel scene depicting the Madonna and Child.Signed on the movement.Diam. 58 mm.
