Swiss or French, circa 1790. Fine cast iron and brass wheel dividing (slotting) engine. Horizontal brass dividing plate set with 14 rows of divisions, reverse with 13, hinged locking arm with thumb loop, pivoted cutting arm with a slide, engaging by a screw, flat blank holding fixture, iron holding arm with turned brass pillars, four steel feet. Dim. 33 x 17 cm. Lacquered and polished.
