Travelling Clock Maker French, circa 1870 Very fine and rare eight day going hour and half-hour striking musical clock "Music de Genève" painting with six tunes, with echo activated at 12 o?clock, music playing every hour or on demand.
C. Gilt wood framed oil on canvas, featuring a landscape, a traveling clock pedlar in the foreground.D. Painted white with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel trefoil hands.M. Rectangular, brass with going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, pendulum with silk suspension. Striking on a gong with rack on the pillar plate. Additional brass movement for the carillon with echo playing at 6 and 12 o?clock, striking with two hammers on single gong, unusual precision fly regulator. Musical movement of 6 tunes with 23 cm. brass pinned cylinder with 90 tuned vibrating blades in a single comb.Dim. Frame 101 x 83 cm.
