Silver, radial Roman chapters,outer minute dot divisions, engine-turned and whitened center, subsidiary seconds, with an aperture for phasesof the moon, thermometer sector at 9 o?clock, days of the week between 2 and 3 o?clock. Blued-steel "Breguet"hands.M. 40 mm, rhodium-plated, "fausses-côtes" decoration, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement,monometallic balance, self-compensating balance-spring with outer terminal curve, "swan-neck" micrometerregulator.Dial and case signed. Professor Thomas Engel Professor Engel is internationally known for his research into polymers. In 1966, he developed a process for cross-linking plastic extrusions, and particularly extrusions of cross-linked polyethylene. Dr. Engel has received many prizes and honors for his work. In 1972, he was awarded the "Diesel Prize", which he shared with Dr. Wernher von Braun, the renowned scientist and aerospace engineer. When not inventing, Dr. Engel pursues his great love of horology, with particular emphasis on the life and work of Abraham-Louis Breguet. Not just a collector, he has applied his knowledge and technical skill to the art of watch-making. Over the years, Dr. Engel has produced a few watches in the style of, and often with the methods of, Breguet.
