French, circa 1900, continental flying tourbillon regulator attribut-able to the Deutsche Uhrmacher Schule, circa 1930?s. An exceptional, gilt brass 8-day going Grande et Petite Sonnerie car-riage clock with one-minute continental flying tourbillon regulator, free-sprung pivoted detent escapement, quarter-repeating, and alarm.
C. Rectangular, glazed on all sides and the top, fluted Corinthian columns, shaped base andtop, hinged handle, hinged back door, grande/petite/silent lever in the base.D. Off-white ring with radial Romannumerals separated by red fleur-de-lis decoration, outer minute dot divisions, gilt brass center. Blued steel"spade" hands. Alarm dial below with radial Arabic chapter. Whole on gilt brass plate engraved with stylizedfoliage.M. Rectangular, brass, 101 x 71 mm, brass, going barrels, two-arm steel carriage, pivoted detentchronometer escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with gold temperature screws and platinummean time screws, blued steel free-sprung helical balance spring, the extension of the carriage forming a secondhand running over a silver chapter ring with seconds track, striking and repeating on two gongs by two hammers.Dim: Height 16 (without handle) x 11 cm.
