Alexis Favre, Genève, No. 1762, Etabli expressément pour Paul Ledoux, made in 1891.Very fine, 18K gold, keyless pocket lever chronometer, awarded the first prize at the contest organised at the Observatory of Geneva in 1891.

C. Four body , massive, "bassine", polished, the back with the champlevé red and blue flinqué enamelled monogram P.L. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with the awarded prize. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring, sunk subsidiary seconds on chapter "III" and symmetrical circular cartouche for the signature. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 19''', Extra supérieur gilt brass,19 jewels in gold screwed settings, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, palladium balance spring with terminal curve.Signed on the dial, case and movement.Diam. 52 mm.Accompanied by photocopies of the Timing Certificates.

The first one with 234,5 and thelast one with 176,9; the maximum being 300 marks.Alexis Favre (1860-1914)He was a watchmaker and also excelled as a timer. The trademark Alexis Favre was registered on July 12, 1888,No. 2343, and later under the No. 23381. He was awarded the first prize at the Geneva Observatory contest in 1881, where he obtained 232 points with a lever chronograph with flat spiral. In 1882, he and another participant were tied for first place. In 1883, he obtained the first prize for a chronometer presented by Patek Philippe. In 1887, he won two first prizes, two second prizes and a third prize. He was established 214, rue de la Cité,in 1860, and then 15, Place Saint Gervais.
