Notes

Mahara MHR Montres S.A.Was founded 12 years ago in Geneva. Its first creation, the S.79 Sparviero, featuring a pink dial and large, grey Arabic numerals, set a trend and is still sought after today. In 1996, the Sparviero Two indicated the desire of Mahara MHR Montres to remain true to its initial inspiration. With black dial and highly legible white numerals, this polished steel model celebrated the S.79 Sparviero, the famous Italian plane; the watch featured a round, satiné steel bezel evoking the propeller of that plane which made history in the field of aeronautics. There are deep ties linking watchmaking to aviation and it is worth remembering that the wristwatch was born namely as a response to the needs and safety requirements of pilots.Today Mahara MHR Montres unveils the model Sparviero 2000 which maintains the same qualities as its first model, in terms of design, sobriety, perfect legibility and robustness. This year Mahara MHR Montres, while keeping the same overall frame, resolutely points to the future and, at the eve of the 3rd millenium, evolves in full respect of history. From the drawing of a bird's skeleton, such as might have been conceived by Leonardo da Vinci, or the more delicate profile of a sparrowhawk, Mahara MHR Montres now adopts the stylized winged design, stemming from the technical drawings of the plane, result of leading edge electronics. Its Sparviero hence glides from one millenniun to the other.Sold for the benefit of the Geneva Schoolof Watchmaking and Microtechnology
