D. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Gold pierced hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece.Signed on the dial and back plate.Diam. 51 mm.

George(s) AchardSon of François, born in Aouste (Dauphiné, France).A Master watchmaker, he was originally into partnership withhis brother Jean-François until 1796. Together, they made complicated enamelled watches. The two brothers separated, and Georges created a company called Achard & Cie whilehe was into partnershipwith Antoine Luya. Soon after, the company's name returned to G. Achard et Fils. During this last period, they made automaton, repeating, skeletonized, or form watches.
