Swiss, No. 12267, circa 1900.Fine 18K pink gold hunting cased, keyless moon phase astronomical quarter repeating watch with triple calendar and chronograph.

C. four body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished. Hinged gold cuvette engraved with technical details. D. White enamel with bold Breguet numerals, outer Arabic minute and chronograph ring, sunk subsidiarydials for days of the week, months, dates and seconds with inner moon phase aperture. Gold "Louis XV" hands. M. 19''', gilt brass, 15 jewels, counterpoised straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring with swan neck micrometric index. Repeating on gongs with slide in the band. Chronograph with visible work and push piece in the band.Diam. 57 mm.

As it happens sometimes for watches made in Switzerland for the Indian or the Far East markets, the technical details engraved on the cuvette indicate a far better quality than the movement really is. For instance, the movement of the present watch is fitted with 15 jewels, instead of the 30 jewels as mentioned on the cuvette.
