Swiss, circa 1795.Fine and unusual, large, silver watch with decorated dial and triple calendar and Revolutionary mottos.
C. Double body, Directoire, polished. D. Small white enamel eccentric with Breguet numerals, flanked by two subsidiary dials for date and days of the week, small dial at the top between painted soldiers, for the months and their number of day underlined by the mottos: Nous véllion aux salut de la Patrie. Subsidiary motto: Je mésure le tems sil nia contretems. Gold "spade" hands. M. Hinged gilt brass full plate with square baluster pillars, the border of the back plate engraved with foliage decortion, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Gilt brass continental cock with garnet end-stone, the silver disc of the regulator set on the border with red and green stones.Diam. 70 mm.
