C. Four body, massive, "forme quatre baguettes" by Jules Perot (Master mark), engine-turned, the back engraved with the monogram: "C.M.". Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel by Droz (signed on the enamel backing) with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and Up-and-Down sector. M. 18''', frosted and gilt three-quarter plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain and maintaining power, spring detent escapement, two-arm compensation balance with gold wedged poising weights and timing screws, dimond end-stone, free sprung blued steel helical balance spring with terminal curves.Signed on the dial, cuvette and movement.Diam. 47 mm.

Notes

Due to the difficulty in producing a stem winding system for a movement with fusee and chain, very few keyless pocket chronometers of this type were produced. This is certainly one of the earliest ever made.
