I. Blaser à Berne, (Swiss), circa 1750.Fine gilt bronze, hour striking and pull repeating, traditional nocturnal clock from Bern.

C. Folding cast gilt bronze curved feet with acanthus leaf decoration. Cast gilt bronze rocaille frets above and below the dial, the top one centred with a pierced fleur-de-lys. D. Brass revolving chapter ring with pierced Roman numerals and cast bronze rocaille centre. M. Brass shaped with turned pillars, double toothed barrel driving both the going and the striking trains, verge escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension. Striking and repeating on a bell, the repeating train released by mans of a pull-cord.Signed on the back plate.Dim. 32 x 17 cm.

Very fine exemple of a striking and repeating traditional nocturnal clock so popular in the area of Bern (Switzerland) towards the middle of the 18th century, and which were mainly produced in the Funk workshop.
