French, circa 1800.Fine mahogany eight day going, hour and half hour striking, moon phase, astronomical, mantel regulator with centre seconds and Republican calendar.
C. Mahogany rectangular base and arched top, the movement supported by two columns and two pilasters with chased ormolu capitals, the bezel chased with cast palm-leaf decoration. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals, inner ring for the 30 days of the Republican calendar and centre moon phase aperture. Gilt brass chased hands. M. Circular brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, pin-wheel escapement set on the back plate, gridiron half-econd beating pendulum with knife edge suspension. Striking on a bell with count wheel on the back plate.Dim. 46 x 17 x 12 cm.
