Haas à Bern, No. 208, Swiss, circa 1740.Fine eight-day going, hour and quarter striking ebonised pear-wood Neuchâteloise bracket clock.

C. Moulded rectangular with glazed side panels, pediment with five turned bronze finials and applied with a small gilt bronze ornament. Drawer for the keys on the moulded base. D. Silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals and outer Arabic minute ring. Gilt brass pierced and engraved hands. Black velvet covered dial plate applied with gilt bronze winged angel sprandels. Fine cast gilt bronze figure of Father Time below the dial. M. Brass rectangular with turned baluster pillars, going barrels boton the going and the striking train, verge escapement, short pendulum with silk suspension and cycloïdal cheeks. Striking on two bells with both the quarter and the hour and half-hour count wheels on the back plate.Signed on a silvered cartouche below the dial.Dim. 54 x 31 x 15 cm.
