Swiss, No. 833, circa 1850.Fine Neuch?tel eight-day going, quarter-striking bracket clock with alarm and matching bracket, so-called cul de lampe.

Shaped black-painted wood with gilt flower and foliate decoration, hinged front door with glaze pendulum aperture below the dial, gilt frame to the door and dial, curved gilt feet made in one piece with the beading to the base of the clock. D White enamel with Roman numerals. Blued steel and gilt brass ?sun? hands, blued steel alarm setting hand. M. Brass, rectangular plated, two train, going barrels to both trains, typical Neuch?tel quarter striking count wheel on the back plate. Anchor escaement, flat bob pendulum with silk thread suspension, striking on two gongs. Pull cord alarm train, striking o a bell.Dim. 93 x 35 x 14 cm.
