Blois or Paris, circa 1645.Very fine 22K gold and enamel 18th century snuffbox made with two very fine gold and enamel 17th century watch backs.

C. Gold mounted double body, the box made from an extremely finely painted watch back, enamelled on gold, depicting Venus taking care of Adonis wounded by the boar, the band painted with scenes of country life, the interior painted with a riverside landscape, rowing boats on the foreground, the ruins of a castle on the back. The gold enamelled lid panel also painted with a scene depicting Venus and Adonis, framed by a turquoise twisted rope, enamelled en pate, the interior painted with a countrside landscape, a maiden on the foreground, a castle on the background.Diam. 62 mm
