Notes

Jacques Duduiet the first of Blois. Born 1599, married at the Temple in 1639, renounced his Mastership in 1645 and died in 1646. Examples of this form of fluted case made in France in the first half of the 17th century exist but the watch now offered for sale is of somewhat larger size than usual.
