C. Double body ?forme quatre baguettes?, engine-turned, marked ?J.B.?. D. White enamel with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds. Gold ?spade? hands. M. Gilt brass full plate with turned pillars,15 jewels in screwed settings, fusee with chain and maintaining power, Massy lever escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass cock engraved with scrolling foliage, ruby end-stone. Unusual pull wind device by means of the flat cap, set in the pendant, winding when pulled outwards, the small chain being rewound automatically.Signed on the dial and back plate.Diam. 52 mm.

Notes

This pull wind mechanism differs from that invented by Viner roughly at the same time, in that it can be fitted, as here, on watches with fusee and chain. Furthermore, in this watch, the winding knob, once pulled, does not have to be pushed back manually, the short chain being rewound automatically.
