Notes
Very few watches with lever escapement were produced towards the end of the 18th century by Josiah Emery after Mudge and also by a few other English makers. In France, Robert Robin made some lever watches in the late 18th century, followed by a few other makers such as De Belle and Louis Berthoud. However, such watches were fitted with lever escapements without draw and therefore the escapement could be disturbed by the wearer?s movements. Subsequently the lever escapement was not used any morentil the draw was invented by Breguet circa 1812. This watch is one of the very first produced in Switzerland after the introduction of the draw.
