Notes

The VinaigrettesVery popular in Orient where they were part of the costume of the elegant ladies, designed as a ball, a small tureen or a booklet, the vinaigrettes small lockets with inner hinged grill, designed to place a small piece of cotton-wool, soaked with their salts (originally just some vinaiger). They were sometime worn suspended from a ring by a short gold chain, and could also be built-in a pendant watch, a walking stick or a fan.
