J.W. Benson, 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill, London, By Special Warrants to H. M. The Queen and H.R.H. the Prince of Wales, No. 2218, case by F.T., hallmarks for 1915.Very fine and interesting, 18K rose gold hunting-cased and enameled, keyless, minute repeating watch.

C. Four-body, 'bassine', the front covered with dark blue translucent enamel over engraving imitating engine-turning patterns, centered by the initials 'CNC' decorated by similar engraving, the back with a center oval cartouche enameled with opalescent rose over a sunburst engraving, circled by translucent dark blue enamel with moon pattern decoration in opalescent rose over matching engraving, gold hinged cuvette, milled groove in the band to fit repeater slide. D. Off-white enamel by Willis, Rman numerals, outer minute ring, subsidiary sunk seconds, snap-on fit, blued-steel 'spade' hands. M. 19???, half-plate, gilded, decorated by ring-type spotting in a parallel pattern, lateral lever escapement with lift on the pallets, bimetallic compensation balance with large gold mean and temperature screws, double-overcoiled balance spring with outer terminal curve, going train jeweled to the center with endstones in châtons on the entire escapement, 'swan-neck' micrometric regulator, all-or-nthing repeating on gongs with raised surprise lever.Signed on dial and movement.Diam. 52 mm.
