Notes

The actual maker was in all likelihood Benedict Fürstenfelder of Friedberg. In fact the watch is from the same series as lot 383, which shows a repoussé battle like this lot, and has a similar movement. About Friedberg watchmaking, see note to lot 383.The repoussé scene shows the meeting between the victorious Prince Eugène de Savoie-Carignan, known as 'Prince Eugène', and the defeated Kara Mustapha, after the Battle of Vienna of 1683.
