Courting Doves Just & Son, London, No. 2065, made for the Chinese market, circa 1835. Fine and rare 18K gold and painted on enamel, pearl-set center-seconds watch with duplex escapement.

Two-body, the back painted on enamel with courting doves among flowers, translucent scarlet enamel background over engine-turning, pearl-set bezels, band, pendant and bow decorated in black and white champlevé enamel, gold cuvette hinged to the movement ring. D. White enamel, radial Roman hours, outer minute andsecond divisions, Arabic fifteen minutes/seconds. Blued steel ?fleur-de-lis? hands. M. 45 mm (20'''), gilt brass fully engraved ?Chinese? caliber, free-standing barrel, ruby duplex escapement with ruby rest insert and steel impulse pallet, steel three-arm balance with screws, flat balance spring.Signed on the movement.Diam. 52 mm.
