Piguet & Meylan, Geneva, No. 974, circa 1820. Very fine 18K gold and enamel musical snuff box.
C. three-body, rectangular, canted corners, the lid centered with a repoussé gold classical bust of a man on azure enamel, small gold oval frame engraved with laurel-leaf wreath, whole on engine-turned background, azure and white enamel borders, side panels and base en suite. M. 80 x 50 mm, brass, thin, sur plateau, fixed barrel wound with male key, 7-wheel train with the disc being the 3rd, 4-arm pinion-and-fly regulator, two sets of 14 tuned vibrating blades on each side of the pinned disk.Punched with maker?s mark on the movement, case punched with French prestige marks.Diam. 95 x 52 x 20 mm.
