Ab(raha)m Collomby & Comp., No. 2933, circa 1765. Very fine 20K gold and painted on enamel, diamond-set pair-cased quarter-repeating watch.
C. Outer: two-body, Louis XV, back painted on enamel with flowers in relief against translucent Imperial blue enamel over flinqué, gold stems and leaves, bezel en suite, parts pierced for sound, diamond-set thumb pieces. Inner: two-body, ?bassine? with deep back, band pierced and engraved with stylized foliage. D. White enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic markers, center with gold rosette in crosshatched pattern. Blued steel ?Louis XV? hands. M. 32 mm, frosted gilt full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance-spring, single-footed cock with ruby endstone, repeating on bell by depressing the pendant, gilt dust cap.Signed on the movement, case punched ?GL/D? in a heart crest.Diam. 48 mm.
