Bordier a Genève, No. 38117, circa 1780. Fine and rare gilt brass and painted on enamel, paste-set pair-cased pendant watch.
C. Outer: two-body, back with painted on enamel portrait of a lady, paste frame, translucent imperial blue enamel border over circular engine-turning, band engraved with repeated pattern, front bezel set with paste. Inner: two-body, ?bassine?, polished, with deep back. D. White enamel, Roman numerals, outer minute divisions with five-minute Arabic markers. Paste-set elaborate hands. M. 28 mm, hinged, frosted gilt full-plate with pentagonal baluster pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, single-footed cock with ruby-paste endstone.Signed on dial and movement. Diam. 39 mm.
