Attributed to Isaac Daniel Piguet, Geneva, circa 1800. Very fine, rare and important 18K gold and enamel pearl-set keyless musical automaton ring . Accompanied by a morocco fitted box.
C. Rectangular top with canted corners, lightly engraved flat band and back with a slot for the winding lever, fluted adjustable shank extending at the top, half pearl-set glazed bezel protecting three-colored gold animated scene depicting a lady playing the harp, both hands moving on either side of the strings, a dove above the harp nodding in time to the music, applied on finely painted and overglazed enamel panel depicting a drawing room. M. Rectangular with canted corners, 27.4 x 14.4 mm, brass full-plate, pinned barrel with five tuned vibrating blades, rack winding, six-wheel train, last pinion in eccentric socket for tempo adjustment, automaton driven from two cams fitted to the first wheel arbor (after the pinned barrel).Dim. Top: 34 x 22 mm., height with the shank 32 mm.
