Bruguier a Genève, No. 6, circa 1845. Fine tortoise-shell and enamel singing bird box.
C. Rectangular, entirely covered with tortoiseshell, the bird's medallion finely painted on enamel with a bouquet of flowers, the interior decorated en-suite, chased frame, front with activation lever. M. Rectangular, 87 x 41 mm, brass, turned pillars, fusee and chain, rectangular bellows, bird moving head and tail, flapping wings, opening beak, eight cams controlling the piston and the bird's beak and tail, two additional ones for the other movements, another one for lifting the cams via a C-shaped lever lifted by a cam set on an additional arbor fitted with alifting cam, long duration of song with folk interlude, precision cam-controlled lifting mechanism, gold grill pierced and engraved with floral pattern.Movement stamped three times with Bruguier?s tulip mark.Diam. 94 x 60 mm.
