Attributable to Bovet, Fleurier, made for the Chinese market circa 1880. Fine silver and painted on enamel, pearl-set center-seconds watch.
C. two-body, ?Chinese? type, back painted on enamel with a portrait of a lady against translucent scarlet enamel over engine-turning, pearl-set bezels, glazed silver gilt cuvette hinged to the movement. D. white enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute/seconds divisions with fifteen-minute/seconds Arabic markers. Blued steel ?spade? hands. M. 47 mm (21???), gilt brass fully engraved ?Chinese? caliber, free-standing barrel, lever escapement, plain steel three-arm balance, flat balance spring. Case punched with London prestige marks in the typical Bovet manner.Diam. 56 mm.
