Notes

Antoine Preziuso, Maître Horloger. Among the modern great watchmakers, Antoine Preziuso, the man and his brand, are truly exceptional. For over 25 years, Preziuso has been a master horologist of the highest caliber, and he is considered to be one of the most gifted masters of mechanical complication today. Many of his greatest timepieces have been awarded the famous "Poinçon de Genève" Hallmark of Geneva seal for their technical mastery and aesthetic quality. As a young man who assembled his first timepiece at the age of seven, Preziuso is renowned as one of Switzerland?s finest independent watchmakers. His illustrious career runs the gamut of specializing in making extremely important horological complications for the great watchmaking firms, to setting up the first restoration and appraisal workshop of the world?s leading auctioneer in the field of horology, Antiquorum. In 1981, already reputed as an expert watchmaker, Preziuso opened his own workshop in Geneva. Quickly recognized as a master, the Geneva Watch Museum "Musée de l?Horlogerie de Genève", as well as great collectors, entrusted to his care rare and fine timepieces. As a master of the large, mechanical complication, Preziuso launched his own brand of prestigious watches in 1990 to illustrate that it is possible to align watch making tradition and innovative design. Minute repeaters, ornamented with engraved and animated decors, along with tourbillons, chronographs, and skeletonized watches are all part of Antoine Preziuso?s tribute to the great craftsmen of the past. In the exclusive circles of collectors and connoisseurs, Preziuso?s timepieces are coveted because they are faithfully made in the living tradition of fine watch craftsmanship. Preziuso shares his mastery and profound knowledge of watchmaking by teaching at the Geneva School of Watchmaking and training the foremost young talents in the industry. He also uses his studios to help re-integrate physically disabled people from the "Centre de Réinsertion pour l?Horlogerie" by giving them opportunities to enrich their training through practical courses in his workshops. As a seeker of innovation, Antoine Preziuso will continue to astonish watch lovers worldwide with his highly technical, extremely complicated timepieces, and his passion for beauty in design will distinctly mark the tradition of his craft well into the 21st century.
