Jupiter Attributed to Courvoisier Frères, Swiss, No. 15217, circa 1820. Fine and rare 18K gold, petite sonnerieclockwatch with independent early minute-repeating, four square gongs and visible striking works.
C. Four-body, "Empire", by "J.E", the back engraved with a seated figure ofJupiter below a medallion with sunburst pattern, reeded band. Hinged giltbrass cuvette. D. Gold, engine-turned in an elaborate pattern with radialRoman numerals on a polished chapter ring. Blued-steel "spear" hands withpolished tips. M. 53 mm (23'''), gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, dou-ble train with going barrels, cylinder escapement, three-arm polished steelbalance, flat balance spring. Hour and quarter striking train with polished-steel Neuchâtel-type count wheel on the back plate, striking on two squarepolished-steel gongs with two hammers, repeating (independent strike work)on two square polished steel gongs, by depressing the pendant.Dial and cuvette signed Breguet & Fils.Diam. 61 mm.
