Neuchâtel area, made for the Spanish market for Vicente Saavedra, Madrid, circa 1870. Very fine and rare 18K gold hunting-cased dou- ble-train independent seconds, quarter-seconds diablotine watch with 12-hour register and thermometer.

C. Four-body, heavy, "bassine et filets", elaborately engraved with rosettesand acanthus leaves, gold hinged cuvette, pin at one o'clock to activate thesecond train. D. Silver, eccentric Roman numeral hour and minute chapterset at 3 o'clock, at 9 12-hour register, subsidiary dial for the quarter-secondsdiablotine at 6, at 12 the thermometer scale, outermost a quarter-seconds track for the independent seconds hand. Blued-steel"spade" hands.M. 45 mm.
