"Tableau à Musique" French, circa 1860. Very fine and rare eight day going hour and half hour striking musical clock painting, playing two tunes on the hour or at will, with echo, independent quarter-repeating, and vespers at 5 o'clock.

C. Gilt wood framed oil on canvas, featuring a village and a countryside landscape in the backgrolund, a church in the foreground withclock in its tower. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. Rectangular, 15 x12 cm, brass with large going barrels both for the going and the striking trains, anchor escapement, pendulum with silk suspension.Striking on two gongs and four bells. Additional brass movement for the carillon with echo playing at 6 and 12 o'clock, repeating withtwo hammers on two gongs. Musical movement of 6 tunes with 23 cm. brass pinned cylinder with vibrating blades in a single comb.Dim. Frame 99 x 124 cm.
