Paris, circa 1790. Very fine and very rare marble and gilt bronze hour and half-hour striking, twelve tune musical clock playing on the hour or on demand, with automatic tune changing.
C. Clock supported on a white marble column flanked by two gilt bronze nymphs holding flowers in their hands with flower baskets on the heads, marble base with biscuit in the center, probably from the Locré manufactury in Paris, brass and ormolu burning torches and ormolu rooster in the center, whole on rectangular white marble box housing musical movement with four white marble columns decorated with ormolu appliqués, hinged backdoor, bun feet. D. White enamel, Breguet numerals each separated by painted flower, outer minute dot divisions, winding apertures in the center. Gilt brass pierced hands. M. Circular, brass, going barrels on all two trains, anchor escapement, brass pendulum with silk suspension, count wheel on the back plate, striking on a bell. Musical movement: rectangular, fusee with wooden cone and chain, 13 pipes, wooden pinned cylinder 230 mm long, fly governor with adjustable wings, double wooden bellows and reservoir.Signed on the dial ?a Paris?.Dim: Height 79 cm, width 45 cm
