Henry Capt, Genève, No. 39834, circa 1875. Exceptionally rare and very fine, small, 18K varicolored gold, keyless, pocket watch with instantaneous perpetual calendar watch with minute-repeating and chronograph, probably destined for the 1878 Paris Universal Exposition.
C. Four-body, by ?JBR?, ?bassine et filets?, back elaborately chased with griffin-like monsters holding an urn, repeated pattern on bezels and band, gold hinged cuvette. D. Gold with red Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, outermost chronograph track, four subsidiary sunk dials for days of the week, date, months of the four year leap cycle and subsidiary seconds. Blued-steel ?spade? hands. M. 34.6 mm (15 1/4'''), nickel, ?fausses côtes? decoration, 36 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs through activating slide in the band.Signed on case and movement.Diam. 43 mm.
