Lemaire, Paris, circa 1810. Very fine and very rare gold and silver, dead center-seconds pocket watch with virgule escapement and stop feature.
C. Four-body, ?Empire?, engine-turned back, gold bezels, hinges and bow balls, reeded band, gilt hinged cuvette.D. White enamel, by master dialmaker Lucard, radial Roman numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands. M. 52 mm (23'''), frosted gilt full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with Harrison's maintaining power and chain, virgule escapement, brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock, dead seconds driven via small ratchet pinion set on the escape wheel pinion and driving dead-seconds ratchet wheel.Signed on the dial, case punched with French guarantee marks used between 1809 and 1819.Diam. 57 mm.
